There’s a “collector” in every one of us! Howie (How) Meyer, an avid collector and vintage enthusiast of over 40+ years had the vision of creating a space to share the joy of collecting antique and vintage toys with other like-minded collectors. When he approached us, the goal was clear: to take his passion for cataloging and displaying his lifetime collection online, and reach others like him who have been bitten by the passion!
Our creative challenge was to develop a look and feel that would both resonate with long time vintage collectors and appeal to those new to the subject. Our solution was to use a combination of colors, textures, treatments and fonts that give a nod to a past era, while focusing on creating a vintage modern vibe.
One of the best parts about vintage toy collecting is the history and connecting with others. With a need to go beyond just Howie’s collection, we carved out a corner of the site to help Collectors Quests share the knowledge and love of collecting vintage toys including lists to local events and helpful resources to feed every collector’s passion.
Since part of the fun of collecting is enjoying a vintage piece and then returning it to the community for another to cherish, a key element in the build was to have an e-commerce store that is mobile optimized, secure and easy-to-maintain. We’re proud to introduce an online vintage toy shop that will make it easy for other collectors to seek and locate their holy grail!
Seeking out a grail is one thing; talking about it so that other collectors can learn from the experience is what makes it all worthwhile! The site is optimized to be quickly found in search engines and our design allows us to easily expand it in the near future with member forums, e-learning, and live feed modules. This will make Collectors Quests a robust community platform that connects avid collectors and enables them to share their excitement and knowledge for collecting.
Working on Collectors Quests has brought back beautiful childhood memories and sparked our team’s inner curiosity about the old and charming. There is something about the phrase, “they don’t make ‘em like they used to”–and we’ve put that very same extra bit of elbow grease into creating Collectors Quests. We look forward to seeing how it connects collectors around the world!
