Changing the health of children in Canada with Children's Miracle Network (CMNC) in order to change the Future.

Needing a Change of its Own

From 20 telethons to a North American-wide program that supports 170 Children’s hospitals, Children’s Miracle Network Canada (CMNC) is a signature program that has been helping to change the landscape of children’s health since 1983. When CMNC approached us, they felt they needed a little change of their own–in terms of their web presence and how they connect with their Canadian audience.

Focusing the Program’s Strategy Online

Working with multiple fundraising partners and programs to improve the lives of as many children as possible, the CMNC site naturally grew in various directions. We were asked to update and streamline their web presence to help focus the program’s strategy online.

Evolving the CMNC Online Brand for Canada

Using the original colors and Miracle Balloon icon as our guide and inspiration, we set out to update the CMNC brand by giving it a look and feel that provides a platform for creating greater impact for its Canadian stakeholders.

Impact Through Storytelling

Centering the design on providing the best way to tell the stories of every child’s personal journey to overcome illness or injury was the key to aligning the website with CMNC’s strategy. The emphasis was to create enough impact to educate visitors on how their donations are pivotal to providing hope to millions of Canadian kids.

A Platform for National Campaigns

One challenge CMNC had was finding a way to provide visitors with a view on the successes of their partners across the nation and to promote online campaign destinations. We gave them an easy interface to publish and share this content, alongside a campaign feature that was simple to set up for promotion and accepting donations.

Creating Opportunities for Giving and Support

Donations and corporate partnerships drive the success of the program. That’s why we strategically designed donation opportunities at every corner (with as few clicks as possible!) and enabled social sharing to make it easy for visitors to spread the word of CMNC’s mission. This was all structured on a site architecture that ensured every technical and on-page SEO methodology was in place so that CMNC’s program could easily be found on Google and Bing.

A Winning Site for Champions of Children’s Health

The end result is a digital space where CMNC stakeholders across the nation can come together to shine light on children’s health and truly make a difference. By increasing the way CMNC can communicate with and educate their audience and providing more ways for potential partners to connect and donate, we’ve made it easier for CMNC to execute its online strategy
