A place for every young person to grow

Known for providing life-changing program and community-based services to youth for over 100 years, Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada (BGCC) came to us to develop a new site that would continue to communicate their story using the best of today’s digital media.

Everyone knows their name; but few know exactly the wide range of services BGCC provides to communities across the country. The new site was designed with a focus on making it easy for audiences to discover all of the organization’s program offerings.

More content, more shares

More content, more shares

Content will always be king of any online strategy. We made sure the design of the site would make it easy for BGCC staff to publish anything (news, blogs, photos, and videos) and provided simple ways for all content to be shared, even when publishing or reading from a mobile device.

Putting the spotlight on partners and supporters

As an NPO, BGCC can’t thank their partners and supporters enough. Our design also focused on providing a way to show the impact the programs they supported directly have on the youth and community and ensure that they receive the recognition that they deserve.

Find Your Club feature

(Almost) anywhere in Canada

Finding a club that is close to their community was always a challenge for youth and parents visiting the site. We created the Find Your Club feature to help users easily find the 94 club locations across Canada along with their 700+ service locations.

Bilingual Website

It’s bilingual too!

Every aspect of our design also ensured that the new site could serve both English and French-speaking visitors; whether it was for publishing content as a staff member or reading it as a visitor.

Highlighting who’s at the helm

Our research revealed that visitors want to know about the leaders of the organization–after all, they directly influence the outcomes of every program. We made sure there was a way to showcase BGCC Executive staff and share the organization’s leadership with every visitor.

Organization reach out

We added additional features to help BGCC continue connecting with all of its users and allow them to take action. A Careers/Volunteer section, Newsletter integration, and social media sharing widgets help to boost the organization’s ability to reach their audience online.

Bringing everyone together (even us!)

Since launch, the site has seen a large jump in user activity, meaning more stories have been shared! The various departments within BGCC are closer together and collaborate more since it’s effortless to publish content. Our own team had a chance to improve our knowledge of the NPO space too, making us stronger as we continue to support BGCC!
