This was no ordinary restaurant website rebuild: Bangkok Garden is one of only four restaurants in Toronto to be awarded the Thai Select Premium designation from the Thai Consulate recognizing its authenticity of food and outstanding service. Our strategy needed to balance this rich heritage with stunning visuals and a unique visitor experience.
Being the first Thai restaurant in Toronto, it was important to put the rich history of Bangkok Garden at the forefront of the design. We set out to revitalize and renew the brand with an updated and impactful website refresh that put their Thai Food Story first.
Every design and texture we used was thoughtfully sourced and interpreted, with many patterns being from the restaurant itself. Finding inspiration of gold and wood from their earthenwares, while discovering the creamy white and bold blue glaze of traditional Sukhothai ceramics, we wanted the authentic thai culture found on the restaurant’s premises to extend into the brand’s digital property.
At Bangkok Garden, the food comes second only to its rich history. While they offer a wide range of food services (from Lunch Buffet to Event Bookings), we used different CTAs to highlight only the most popular offerings to help lead hungry visitors towards what means most to the business.
It didn’t stop only at delivering authenticity: we made sure to pour on the most important technological features that make a restaurant competitive in today’s online market including e-reservations, take-out ordering , and multiple CTAs to get in contact with staff. This was all dished out with an administrative interface that lets internal users easily update the site on the go.
We designed the site architecture and infused it with the most important on-page SEO elements so that the restaurant will be found by hungry customers looking for a Thai restaurant near them. There’s nothing more important than Local SEO when it comes to restaurants, and we planned it from the ground up.
The result is a delicious site that helps bring the attention back to the food itself; all garnished with deep history and a nod to authentic Thai culture that only the first Thai Restaurant in Toronto can boast of. It’s our hope that on every visit to the site, visitors can taste every Thai flavor that Bangkok Garden has to offer.
