The unique financial needs of the education community are best served by those who genuinely understand those needs.

That’s the foundation the Educators Financial Group (EFG) is built on and they continue to find new ways to maintain its role as the “go to” financial literacy resource for the Education Community in Ontario, Canada. Their latest project, the Pension Income Gap Calculator does just that: it’s an engaging, easy-to-use online tool that lets its members plan and project the pension they’ll need to enjoy a worry-free retirement.

Helping Educators to Plan for the Future

Education members have worked hard to serve our communities and for their pension … but will it be enough come retirement? We worked closely with the EFG Team to create a robust educator-specific calculator that shows its members if they are on track to enjoy the retirement lifestyle they want, and if not, what to do now to ensure they can attain it.

Empowering Educators to Make Best Choices

The EFG Pension Income Gap Calculator allows users to enter their projected annual pension along with their expenses, savings and additional data so that they can identify potential gaps in their retirement income planning.

A Calculator That’s Teacher-Approved

The Pension Income Gap Calculator does all the heavy lifting behind the scenes and allows for inputs that fine-tune projected pension needs, including the ability to factor RRSP, TFSA, Non Registered investments and more! Users are able to intuitively interact with their calculation results in real time, on both desktop and mobile devices.

A User Centric Approach

After submitting their data, Education Members receive their results and calls to action based on their personal data. Users can save their results as PDFs, email them for safekeeping or print them as required. They can create different life scenarios to see which one truly reflects their own situation and dreams.

Open Channels of Communication

The calculator was designed to encourage users to submit their results to the EFG Team and to connect with an EFG Financial Advisor who will help set them on the right track or protect and help them grow what has been saved to date.

Creating Positive Change

Motivating engagement and interaction within the education community is a critical part of what the EFG team strives for on a daily basis. And with the Pension Income Gap Calculator, our challenge was to help them extend their mission and give Education Members the opportunity to learn early on to avoid educator-specific financial pitfalls, so that they are empowered to make confident financial choices and life decisions–all using a really cool calculator that’s just like a retirement pension crystal ball!
